STOP BEING SO HARD ON YOURSELF

Are you ever way too hard on yourself? I know I definitely am...

So this post is going to be a bit different than lifestyle blogging.
I did a blog post over on my friends' Jay and Steph's blog.
They are a wonderful young and super hilarious married couple who decided to create a blog on sharing tips on their married life, you can find them here: http://youngandmarried.co.uk
I thought I'd come and share it on my blog as well, as I hope it will help some of you.

So recently, I did a vlog titled, "STOP BEING SO HARD ON YOURSELF" (if you haven't watched it, go to my Youtube channel #shamelessplug #feelfreetosubscribe). I had watched a recent sermon by Louie Giglio which inspired me. Relationships in our lives are vital. God and people. The first commandment is to love God and the second is to love your neighbour as yourself. However, we focus on loving God, and loving people, but we hardly focus on loving ourselves as well. Besides God, the relationship you have with yourself is the most important relationship you will have. You hear the voice of you the most and you are influenced by your own opinions the most. People may influence your thoughts, but you're the one who chooses to believe them. I think it's so important to love yourself, not solely because you're an amazing person, but because God wonderfully and fearfully made you and he does not make mistakes. We tend to beat ourselves up to an unhealthy extreme, and have no grace for ourselves at times. I personally struggle with having grace for myself sometimes. I may have made a tiny mistake, but I still beat myself up for it. But Jesus was beat up for us, so why should we beat ourselves up?

I think it's vital for you to love yourself so that you can love other people even better. God said "love your neighbour AS you love yourself", because he already expected you to love yourself. Have compassion for yourself. Your body is an ocean full of love, it fights off illnesses, fixes wounds, and keeps you breathing even when you don't feel like it. Love God, love people, and love yourself. Be kind to yourself and be kind to others. Always.

That's it for now folks,
I'll be back with some yummy and pretty posts soon.
